DC Reasi interacts with SHGE members- AAJ KI SATTA



REASI, AUGUST 06: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Prasanna Ramaswamy G, today interacted the engineers registered under the ‘Self Help Group of Engineers’ and took stock of the functioning of these groups. He also enquired about difficulties being faced by them in getting contracts.
The Deputy Commissioner also passed directions to ensure that all eligible engineers are benefitted by the scheme. To ensure quality of the works, he also mandated the presence of at least one engineer from the group to be present at the work site at all the times.
The DC was told that there are around half a dozen SHGEs in district Reasi. Officials from PHE, Irrigation, PMGSY, PDD and various other departments were also present at the meeting. The DC instructed the officials to ensure that guidelines of the scheme are strictly followed.
Self Help Group of Engineers’ scheme was launched by the J&K state government to organize the unemployed engineers of the state into groups. These groups are   given contracts for execution of works by development departments.
